Tips for an exquisite oenological experience

People need to stop thinking of drinking wine as a quick action to get alcohol into the body and start thinking of it as a complete experience. They must realize that they must engage 3 of their 5 senses. They have to use their sense of smell, sight and lastly taste. This will make them realize that there is much more to appreciate in wine than they have been until now.

People already know that there are people who use their senses when they drink wine and would love to too but they don’t know how or where to start. Here are some tips you can use.

First you will have to use your sense of sight for observation. You have to take into account the different colors. If you’re looking for something that has a bold flavor, go for wines that are a deep deep red. If you are looking for a very light flavor I would suggest choosing something that is very light.

You will then need to use your nose to get the different aromas of the wines. Just as you may have seen on TV, swirl the glass around your nose for up to half a minute and sniff near the rim. What is to come when you eventually taste the wine will start to become more and more apparent.

Your taste buds should be on fire because your sense of taste and smell are practically interconnected.

Taking small sips of your wine is the best way to use your sense of taste for this experience. You have to soak up all the various flavors used in making it. Try and even see if it keeps a nice taste in your mouth afterwards or not.

High-end wines such as Syrah wines will never leave you with a bad taste in your mouth.

Use these tips the next time you drink wine and you will have a great experience.
