How to write an “I’m sorry” letter to your girlfriend

The first rule of the apology letter is that you mentally put yourself in your girlfriend’s shoes. What is bothering you? What did she say she feels about the situation that caused the conflict? Can you relate to her feelings? If so, let him know and say so. Tell him how you would feel.

If you’re writing an apology letter, hopefully it’s because you really care about the person you’re writing it for. That is the second rule to follow when writing your letter of apology. Tell her how much you care about her and be honest. Even the toughest girls appreciate being told someone is looking out for them.

Admitting that you have done something wrong requires that you admit that there is something you need to change. That is the third element of the unfortunate letter. Express what will be different in the future. What will ensure that the problem you’re apologizing for doesn’t happen again? This is what should be stated in the apology letter. Why expect someone to accept an apology when there is no hope that the event will never happen again?

Relationships are as different and unique as the individuals who form them. There is no tried and true remedy to fix what has been damaged. However, there is a base from which to start. Compassion, honesty, sincerity, and humility are the key ingredients that could help when writing an “I’m sorry” letter.
