There are a plethora of investment sites and service providers… and they vary in who they target. Some are custom made exactly for the individual. They are rarely one size fits all.

Stocks – The great thing about investing in stocks is that it makes you think about the details of who, what, why, where, and how this investment will ‘work’ for you. There are literally thousands of advisors, subscription-based services, simple and advanced charting services, all the way up to quite sophisticated software programs that tell you who, what, where, etc. of investment in shares. It’s fascinating in itself (that whole universe of “investing”).

However, a simple reality that many people may overlook is that Commercial Real Estate remains, and probably always will be, the #1 income generating field. Probably because it doesn’t take as much “brain work” to run complex statistical models on Options, Stocks, Arbitrage, Futures and trend direction just to get started.

Commercial Real Estate (and for the most part, Residential Real Estate) for the most part CAN be improved.

Ownership or control of commercial (or residential) real estate can be improved through development, etc.

Many investors put excess funds into stocks, which can have excellent fundamentals; however, those equity investors do not have the same ability to improve the ‘underlying’ asset.

Example: An investor buys a large number of shares of a major company. In theory, this investment could be good for the investor. (Our investor may have believed that he could influence management to improve stock performance by the above-average percentage of shares he owned, and thereby gain influence over management decisions of that company, and hopefully, make a profit on that investment).

Often the stock in a major company is larger than one person can reasonably control to make significant improvements to the “underlying.”

Recently the capital of a major company was reorganized, the Government… went bankrupt for all intensive purposes, also reducing the value of investors’ capital.

Real estate, on the other hand, can be ‘controlled’ and easily ‘improved’, which equates to a higher valuation.

A maximum purchase of antiques establishes:

“Buy the best”, “Buy what you can afford”, “Buy the best you can afford”…whether it’s stocks, real estate or any other business, focus on the highest quality you can afford, that you can gain influence to improve it.
